Technical Sales Manager

We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity to join the local team of a global technology company as a Technical Sales Manager. Redtail Telematics is based in the UK and looking to grow a strong territory here in the U.S. by working with a wide clientele base and growing our sales team. We are looking for someone with a competitive spirit and an autonomous work ethic who is interested in furthering their career in the technical sales field. 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for learning the details of our software and hardware products in depth and producing sales through a variety of techniques including customer demonstrations and tradeshow attendance. The Sales Manager will also provide end user training and support for current customers. The role involves 25% travel domestically and internationally for tradeshows and other functions.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in a ground floor operation for a large company and grow out the American territory. Position includes competitive commission structure, base salary, and benefits package. Relocation Negotiable.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:               

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Meet sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis by developing new business opportunities and acquiring new clients, as well as maintaining and growing the business of existing clients.
  • Respond to all inquiries received from Internet, sales leads and tradeshows and other sources.
  • Manage all inside sales leads and visit potential clients to ensure success at large fleet sales opportunities.
  • Act as the client liaison throughout the entire sales, fulfillment and installation processes.
  • Design and conduct web-based software presentations to demonstrate Redtail products and services.
  • Support industry tradeshows.
  • Other duties as needed in support of Sales and this fast-paced and demanding start-up environment.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and environmental standards.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in appropriate educational programs, current industry literature and other means available.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with MS Office applications; experience with Salesforce.com is desirable.
  • Excellent presentation skills to influence clients to accept Redtail sales proposition.

Experience: 

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience selling technical solutions in the B2B space with a proven track record of success.
  • Exceptional ability to motivate and influence key contacts and decision makers.
  • Proven ability to listen, extrapolate information and analyze it in order to effectively provide solutions to client.
  • Ability to expand existing account relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to effectively learn technical products, services and solutions and readily apply new knowledge and a track record of working effectively with technical and business functions.
  • Demonstrated success, with specific examples, managing complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong consulting, analysis, design and presentation skills.

 

Effort required:

  • Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed; periodic travel necessary.
  • On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time.
  • Intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
  • Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
